What crews do you represent?
X-Men, KD, TGC, TFK, RNS, TOT, and Drug Crew among others

Tell us about your initial stages and first graffiti experiences?
Began my graffiti career on the streets of Brooklyn, New York in 1977
My first graffiti experience was bombing the insides of subway trains at the J yard in East New York with CS1 and members of the TFK Crew in 1979

as a young artist, Who influenced you most?
The original StayHigh149, Dondi, Paze, Size, Iz The Wiz, and Lee among other artists

years later, what keeps you in the game?
The love of painting and freedom of expression which graffiti allows me to do in large scale as well as the opportunity to travel and meet others with my passion for art across the globe



Howare you most influenced by your crew?
We are not only a crew, we are a family who believe in unity and support for each other

Give us a quick rundown about the X-Men crew and who recruited you?
X-Men was established in 1979 in Brooklyn, New York by Tatu, at which time I was also recruited into the X-Men Crew

In your opinion, what are the positive and negative changes of graffiti?
Graffiti has become more accepting in today’s society and mainstream areas
Though many artists continue to work hard in establishing its artwork as a legitimate art form, graffiti remains tarnished among the art world due to various gang related groups and graffiti writers who continue to vandalize private properties and destroy legitimate artwork of graffiti artists

how much has your style and techniques changed from your initial stages?
Since my initial start with graffiti art, the development of my letters and styles has improved immensely with practice and collaborations with other artists throughout the years

What’s next for Nest…any gallery shows?
Next show will take place on November 13-14, 2010 at the Graff Connection Shop in Bayamon, Puerto Rico
Now that I am back on the East Coast, I hope to become featured in various shows and possibly open my own shop
Become more involved within the X-Mental University Organization located in Brooklyn, New York



What advice do you have for the new graffiti generation?
Respect private properties and artwork of all artists’
Use graffiti and other art related expression in a positive way
Avoid gang related affiliations that tarnish the graffiti art of expression
Promote graffiti art throughout mainstream and global cities
